You will want to be as exact as possible when measuring. Open your grill and measure the inside area that your grates sit on. The length is from left to right. This will be the wider number. If the inside of your grill is 24, you will need to deduct 3 inches from that number. This will give heat a way to escape from your grills underneath side. Remember your grill is made for the heat just to rise. We are asking you to allow at least 3 inches, 1.5 inches on each side for the heat to be able to escape. Now the depth, measure from front to back. This is the measurement you will want to be the most careful on. Make sure you leave 1/16 to 1/8 inch of room, so the Griddle will just fit in place. If your depth is exactly 19 1/4, order a top that is 19 1/8. Do not order a top that will fit exactly in your grill. This is steel. It can expand. we want room for it to fit easily. You usually have a lip that your grates set on that is 1/2 inch on the front and 1/2 inch on the back. This will easily give you 1/4 inch play room even though we recommend just subtracting 1/8th of an inch. The height / Lip is just how high of a lip you want on the griddle top. We bend each side up. Usually 1 inch. Make sure your grill has room on all 4 sides for a 1″ lip.
Our tops are made from 11 gauge cold rolled steel. In some cases where the griddle may lift in opposite corners due to extreme heat and your cooking style. If you place cold food on a extremely hot top or dump excessive liquid on a hot griddle top, you may need to lock down your griddle top to prevent/minimize the lifting effect. If this happens, the griddle top will typically return to flat as it cools down. Every grill is different so locking down may vary from grill to grill. Locking down the griddle top consists of drilling a hole near in the 4 corners of the griddle and attaching a screw or nut and bolt to a location on your grill. This will keep the griddle from having the freedom to react to the change in temps. Always wait for the griddle to cool down to under 200 degrees before cleaning. Be careful in choosing the locking down location so it does not damage your grill. Griddle Maser is not responsible for any damage caused to you or your grill due to any cooking, lifting or locking down process done by the customer or their affiliates.
If customer wishes to return the griddle top for a refund, Griddle Master will require the customer to ship back the griddle top at the customers expense so we can inspect it. Customer will only be eligible for a refund of the griddle top cost less the shipping cost charged by the shipping company unless Griddle Master was at fault in the size we manufactured. Currently we have never had “any” returns since 2014.
